Gallinger Computer Consulting was "born" in June of 2007. Business was slow at first, but thanks to many referrals and repeat customers, my business is finally growing. I have purposely avoided traditional mass advertising. Instead, I have relied on word-of-mouth advertising and would like to issue a sincere THANK YOU to everyone that has sent referrals my way.

I actually started doing this kind of in-home service in 2001 while employed at a local internet service provider. At the time, I was doing tech support over the phone at the ISP and found that a lot of the customers required more help with their computers than what I was able to (or allowed to by my employer) provide over the phone. It was then that I decided to offer my assistance after hours - in the customer's home. I truly enjoyed being able to help the customers and felt that it was an added benefit to them that I could do it in the comfort of their own home.

About a year later I was promoted to Systems Administrator for one of the ISP's "sister" companies. My duties on-the-job, had compounded and I was now putting in more hours than when I was working tech support. This, combined with the fact that I was no longer in direct contact with customers on the phone, caused my after-hours support to dwindle. I spent the next 5 years honing my computer skills by administering approximately 200 workstations and over 20 servers spread over 9 different offices.

Although I'm very greatful for the experience, I had to part ways with the company in search of "greener pastures". I eventually decided it was time to jump in with both feet and turn my previous moonlighting hobby that I loved so much, into a business I could really enjoy.

That brings us to today. I really, truly enjoy being able to help people with their computer woes. Be it through repairing a "broken" system, helping them purchase and set up a new system, or training them on how to get the most out of their system. If you're looking for someone to put 110% effort into solving your computer dilemmas, I'm your guy.
